Artist Adds Monsters Sitting With Strangers Riding The Tube

Ask anyone who has to ride the tube on a regular basis and they will tell you, it can be a rather unusual place to visit. It doesn’t matter if you are riding the system in New York City or in London; the rules are basically the same. You continue to ride until you get to your destination. During that time, you avoid eye contact with anyone else if possible and you don’t make idle chitchat.

For one person who rides the tube, it has become a particularly unusual place. His name is Ben Rubin, and he likes to use pictures of strangers that are just riding on the tube at random and add monsters into the images. They are the “Underground Doodles,” and he has an Instagram page with thousands of followers. As he makes his daily commute, he sees these monsters in his mind.

Although there have been many monsters drawn for these images from the tube, our favourites are posted below. You may never look at riding the tube the same way again.
