It is common to see police officers working with animals. They even have their own patrol cars, marked as K9 units. Because of what dogs are able to do in the field, they quickly become a valuable member of the team.
In fact, police dogs are actually considered police, and when one is injured or if they should die in the line of duty, they get special honours.
Even through dogs are regularly seen with the police, cats are not seen. If 5-year-old Eliza has her way, however, that is about to change.
She recently sent a letter to the Durham Constabulary, making quite an argument for the use of police cats.
Great response from @DurhamPolice when Chief Constable Mike Barton was asked why there are no police cats. pic.twitter.com/olWFJejDWC

This is the full letter from Eliza:
You have to admit, she does make a god argument, be we aren’t the only ones who thought so. Chief Constable Michael Barton also had a similar thought, and he replied to Eliza personally.
We love it! If you love it too, be sure to share it with your friends and family on Facebook
