With the upcoming release of Stephen King’s “It: Chapter 2,” the internet seems to have a growing obsession with evil clowns, and we likely have 2017, It film to thank for that. The movie’s main villain, Pennywise the Clown, has haunted people’s nightmares for generations.
But now, one donut shop in Dallas, Texas, is taking the evil clown theme to a whole new, glucose-packed level. Hurts Donut is offering folks a chance to have their delicious snacks delivered to a friend via a terrifying, dancing Pennywise-looking clown!
Ah, yeah…
Unfortunately, for anyone who doesn’t live near one of the Hurts Donut locations, are not eligible for this “special service” (oh darn). So clown-haters outside the Dallas-metroplex can relax (for now).
Now, of course, the clown doing the deed isn’t Pennywise, it’ll just be someone dressed up similarly as the infamous character to accomplish the mission since according to the shop’s owner Kas Cleg, “clowns are trending right now.”
“We always try to keep up with trends, and clowns are trending right now,” she told Guide Live. “It’s fall, and it’s getting close to Halloween, so we just wanted to spice it up a little bit and do a super fun delivery …We just love scary clowns.”
This special is only good through September 26, though we wouldn’t be surprised if Hurts decided to extend the service for a few more days. In any case, if you’re in the mood for losing a friend today (and gaining a physiatrist a new client), then you know what you need to do.
