Johnny Depp Heads To The Local Pub To Celebrate Victory With Loyal fans

I don’t think most of us could imagine what it would really be like to have a multimillion-dollar payday. Johnny Depp just had one with his defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard and he is celebrating in style.

He didn’t go out on a luxury yacht or fly to some far away location to spend time on a deserted island, he actually just drove down to a UK pub and bought some of his local fans a plate of fish and chips.

Of course, Depp’s celebration was not about the money per se, it was about coming off victorious in a lawsuit that has kept practically the entire world focused for the past months. It just seemed as if things continued to get better and better every time you turned on the news.

When the jury was sent back for deliberations, they disappeared behind closed doors for 14 hours. This was in the defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.

It all got started when Amber Heard claimed that she was a poster child for domestic abuse. That was back in 2018, and four years later we now know the reality of what has happened.

Depp was awarded $15 million in damages as a result of the trial that lasted six weeks in Fairfax, Virginia. When the verdict was being read, however, he was actually in the UK city of Newcastle in a small pub.

He may be a superstar and a Hollywood celebrity, but at that moment, he was perfectly happy to sit and eat battered fish and chips, for which he paid $17.

Janine Latchford, the general manager of the pub spoke to Chronicle Live, saying that Depp and some of his friends were there and he didn’t want to be recognized. Good luck with that!

Of course, you can’t be a huge celebrity and not be recognized so wasn’t long before Depp was chatting it up with the bar staff and asking questions about the local area. He also commented that the fish and chips were delicious.

As the evening progressed, he continued to enjoy time at the pub, having a pint and stopping to take pictures with some of his loyal fans. He has actually been in the UK since last weekend when he was in Sheffield to perform with Jeff beck.

He continued to perform with his friend for the next few days, including being at the Royal Albert Hall and enjoying a standing ovation.
