When most of us think about an arid desert, we think about no rain, sand and camels. Although it certainly is possible that a desert could fit that description, something magical happens when it begins to rain. With even a little bit of rainfall, the desert will come to life but with additional rainfall, the landscape becomes unbelievably beautiful!
In March, massive downpours occurred in parts of the Atacama Desert, located in Chile. Although this area is typically the driest place on earth, those rains did something special. After all, some of the desert had not seen rain in more than 7 years and in just 12 hours; it got seven years’ worth of rain! When that took place, something remarkable happened…
