You never know what life is going to throw your way, and at times, it can be a most devastating problem. That was the case for Lori and Chris Coble, who experienced something that most parents fear their entire life. Lori was driving with her three children in the car when she was struck by a big rig. It crushed the back of the family minivan.
Lori can not remember anything from that day. She was only told later of what had taken place. Her children were taken to a different hospital and, one by one, the news arrived to her husband Chris that a child had died.
Lori and Chris were looking for justice from the driver and the truck driving industry. It was only 6 months after the accident that they got unbelievable news.
You can see the story below…
The Coble family experienced a devastating tragedy in 2007 when the family car was struck by a tractor trailer. It took the live of their 3 children, 5-year-old Kyle, 4-year-old Emma, and 2-year-old Katie.
Lori does not remember the events of the day. Her husband had to break the news to her about their children.
Jorge Miguel Romero, the driver of the truck, had a history of speeding. He pleaded no contest to 3 counts of vehicular manslaughter.
The couple then took on the truck driving industry, hoping to save lives by changing policies.
“This is an industry that’s based on payment on miles driven,” Chris Coble told Meredith Vieira. “For a lot of truckers, if that truck isn’t rolling, they’re not getting paid, which really sets up an entire industry where it promotes danger and real safety concerns. These truckers are speeding and they’re tired and we’d like to get that changed.”
6 months after the tragedy, something unexpected and amazing happened.
The couple became pregnant with triplets, one boy and two girls, just like their first 3 children.
This couple felt that their children were somehow involved.
In May of 2015, Ashley, Ellie, and Jake celebrated their seventh birthday.
“I think it’s a miracle. I think Kyle, Emma, and Katie had something to do with this. I think they helped us, I think they made this possible,” Lori says.
Nothing could replace the loss of their 3 children but their new children help them to move forward with life.
