A New and Unique Way to Preserve Your Ashes

In most areas of the world, you have a few options available to take care of the remains of a loved one when they pass away. One option that is becoming increasingly popular is cremation. Admittedly, it is a personal decision but it is something that most people consider at some point in their lives.

There are also some new options that are entering onto the scene, including this one. It allows you to stick around permanently in a different form, even after you have passed on. The option comes from a jewelry company, and you are going to be amazed with the possibility!

Algordanza is a company located in Switzerland and they specialize in what is known as the “Memorial diamond.” It uses a special process and converts the cremated remains of a loved one into a genuine diamond!

The human body is composed of many elements, including carbon. In fact the human body is approximately 18% carbon, which also happens to be the element used in the creation of diamonds. After being cremated, there are still 2% of the carbons remaining in the ashes and those can be converted into a diamond.

Graphite is first heated to 2700°F. Large machines are then used to pressurize the carbon in a way similar to how nature applies pressure to carbon in order to form diamonds.

There are many possible colors that could come from the creation process. It depends upon how much boron exists in the ashes. Colors may range from white to dark blue.

The most surprising part of the whole process is the price tag. On average, it may cost $10,000 or more to bury someone but when you have them permanently preserved into a diamond, the cost is only about $4500!
