Every once in a while, there are going to be things that are done and said that are controversial. That is especially true in today’s world when it seems as if news travels faster than it ever has in the past.
Sometimes, these controversial stories are so on the edge that it really takes us by surprise. I think that’s how many people felt when Alicia Silverstone dropped a bomb about her 11-year-old son.
It seems as if Silverstone’s son, Bear still sleeps in the same bed with her. It has always been that way, however, so it really doesn’t take some people by surprise. When she said that they were simply following nature, however, it made some people raise some eyebrows.
“I’m a natural mama, and I’m a loving mama. I believe in love, I believe in nature and our society is scared of nature and love,” she said.
“If you were in any kind of wild setting where there are animals … if you put your baby over there,” she said, as she proceeded to point away from herself, “your baby is going to get eaten. It’s not ideal for the baby to be over there.”
Silverstone went on to talk about some mom-shamers who would likely put her in some hot water for this admission. Then again, she admits that she just doesn’t care.
She also says that her motherhood was “the most precious, most unbelievable experience in this world. For me, it’s so divine.”
Bear was her last child and she didn’t have any desire to have more after he was born right away. She is interested in savoring every moment of his life and then, she may welcome other children.
“I wanted to have more [kids], but then my relationship got messed up, and it wasn’t a great time to bring one in,” she said. “I didn’t want to have one right away because I was so in love with my Bear.”
“I wanted to squeeze every little moment out of him, so it wasn’t until he was like 3 that I was ready to make another baby and then I didn’t have a partner, so that’s why I don’t have four babies.”
Something else that was big news on social media was when her son cut off his long hair in November 2020.
“My baby’s growing up. I miss his hair!!!!! Was it his decision? Yes. Did I cry inside as I watched him get it cut? Maybe … but did I try to stop him? Not for one second,” she shared.
“The reason he chose to keep it for as long as he did was because he loved it so much!!!” she continued. “He just wanted to try something new. Although I have a feeling he’ll find a way back to his long hair again in the future. No matter what though, I will always support my sweet, caring, and precious little boy in every decision he makes.”
