Child Destroys Lego Sculpture Worth $15,000 Only Hours After Exhibit Opens

I don’t know any children who do not love Legos. They are a toy that seems to be timeless and children still play with them, even though we live in an electronic age. They spark the imagination and besides, they are great fun.

It was an interest and even a love of Legos that prompted one family to visit the Lego Expo in Ningbo, China. The displays had only been open to the public for less than an hour when the unthinkable happened. A young Chinese boy pushed over a giant fox figurine of Nick from Zootopia and destroyed it.

The artist, Zaho, spent 3 days and nights creating the figurine. He said the parents were very apologetic over the mishap.

The Lego figurine was estimated to have a value of 100,000 yuan ($15,170).

Zhao did not want compensation, stating that the child did not mean to break the statue. He posted pictures of the figurine on his Weibo account, although he did not go into detail of what happened during the incident.

Hopefully, things will work out in the end and another figurine can be created.
