Cocoa Farmers Taste Chocolate for the First Time

Below is a touching video of Ivory Coast cocoa farmers who ate chocolate for the first time in their entire lives.

Featured on Metropolis TV, the cocoa farmers from M’batto had their first taste of chocolate. In fact, none of them knows what it is. This was the first time they have seen one, too.

Ironically, Ivory Coast is the world’s leading exporter of cocoa beans. Unfortunately, chocolate is very rare and very expensive in their area.

One chocolate bar in M’batto costs two euros, but the farmers only make seven euros a day.
