Jaimee Newberry is a mother of two who had a wonderful idea. She decided to sew her daughter a dress that was based on her own drawings. As it turns out, the dress was quite a success both with the daughter and with her friends. She decided that she was going to make a business out of it.
The name of the company is “Picture This” and it really helps to foster the child’s imagination. They take the drawings from the children, who want to design their own clothes, and then they turn them into actual clothing. At this time, they only make dresses but they may expand into other areas at some point in the future.
The way that it works is rather straightforward. You go over to their website, choose the size and print out the coloring sheet. Have your child draw exactly what they would like on a dress and then send the picture into the website. Approximately two weeks later, the dress will arrive in the mail.
This is a great way for children to use their creativity and to see their efforts come to life. You can see some of the creations below.
