It seems as if everybody has a talent, but there are times when we just need to find out what that talent is. For John Lopez, a cowboy on a ranch in South Dakota, he has found that talent through bronze sculptures. He stumbled on this particular artform but he did so in an unusual way.
It was after he lost his aunt in death that he went to his uncle’s ranch to build a family cemetery. It was while creating the cemetery gate that he ran out of material and he went to the scrap yard to find something to use. It was there that he found metal that he wasn’t welded into a beautiful gate and an angel for the cemetery.
After he created that first gate, it led to the creation of many other welded pieces of artwork. Today, his artwork is featured across the United States and is known worldwide. Here are some of his sculptures.
