Demi Moore is someone who is more than just a household name. She has been around for many years, entertaining us in movies and on television.
In 1981, she got her first part in the movie Choices, and ended up with a role in General Hospital. That was only the beginning of her rise to fame, as she ended up starring in Blame It on Rio in 1984.
In 1985, she got her big break when she played Jules and St. Elmo’s Fire. At that point, she was one of the rising stars in Hollywood.
When she played with Patrick Swayze in Ghost, she earned a Golden Globe nomination. She went on to play in movies such as About Last Night and A Few Good Men, which were outstanding performances as well.
One thing that many people don’t know about Demi Moore is the fact that she struggled with substance abuse as a child. She said that it was difficult for her and her family and it almost tore her career apart. It was difficult for her to be in the spotlight at first.
In 1987, she began actively dating Bruce Willis, and they got married in November of that year. They had met only a few months earlier in the film Stakeout, and it wasn’t long before they were having children together.
Everything seemed perfect on the surface but complications were taking place behind closed doors. In June 1998, Willis and Demi Moore announced they were getting separated and two years later, they filed for divorce.
Willis, however, admitted that he still struggled to understand why their marriage didn’t work. He said: “I still love Demi. We’re very close. We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we’re probably as close now as we ever were. We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our kids. Our friendship continues. The institution has been set aside… It’s difficult to live your life and marriage under a magnifying glass, which is what happens to movie star couples.”
Despite the fact that they may have had problems with their romantic relationship, they continue to be friends. They even did well at co-parenting, and Demi Moore is still standing by, now that Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Moore has looked back over life and said that there were some problems she had to face. This included the slump she experienced in the middle of her career, that she blames on the way the Hollywood looks at equal pay. Despite that, she made 12.5 million starting in Striptease and at that time, she was the highest-paid actress in film history.
There were also rumors about the plastic surgery that she may have had on her body. Some people said that she spent $3 million on plastic surgery but she says it isn’t true.
She said: “To fight it feels futile because I feel it perpetuates the myth. But really, the culmination for me was when there were multiple reports I had my knees done. When I read that, I thought: wow, should I have been worried about my knees?
“It’s not just my knees. They say I’ve had multiple face surgeries. I was in getting a facial recently and there were reports that I’d been in there for countless hours, saying I’d had surgical procedures. Am I going to sue? Do I really care?”
This caused many people to wonder how she is able to maintain her appearance. Even as she gets older, she still seems to maintain a glowing look.
Although she claims that she has not had any surgery done, she does say that there’s one thing that has helped. She said that her mother had always drilled it into her that she should wash, cleanse, and moisturize her skin.
