Ask any parent who likes to travel and they will tell you that from time to time, it can be difficult to travel with children. It doesn’t matter if you are in a car, on a plane or using any other mode of transportation, there will always be the inevitable bathroom break and at times, a fussy baby that needs consoling.
When Evan Hughes was traveling with his eight-month-old son after he was separated from his wife because of bad weather, things took an unusual turn. They had to take separate flights and Evan decided to take the son with him, being the good husband that he was. It was only the second time that the baby had flown, so he was a little bit fussy. It was going fairly well but then his son decided to get up and say hello to the stranger next to them on the flight.
Evan attempted to keep the baby in check until the lady sitting next to them held out her arms and invited the child to come over. Evan was grateful for the assistance!
It didn’t even take a minute of snuggling with the stranger before the little fella fell fast asleep. She offered to hold his son if he wanted to take a quick nap as well and Evan even fell asleep.
“The kindness of this stranger was truly refreshing on what was quickly becoming one of the worst days in a long time. There is still hope!”
We often hear bad news but as a general rule, people typically have something good in their heart. This story is a reminder that there is hope for humanity.
