Many children become attached to something in their younger years, and in many cases, the two of them are inseparable. That is the case with this young girl, but she doesn’t carry around a teddy bear or a soft blanket, she loves a giant lawn owl and they go everywhere together.
Although we may look at this as being somewhat unusual, for this little girl, it is perfectly normal. Her owl, named Whootie, has become a part of the family and they don’t go anywhere without each other.
Not every friendship is like another and at times, you just need to go with the flow. Eventually, this little girl may grow beyond her obsession for this lawn owl but for now, it is adorable.
This is Sylvie and her BFF, a lawn owl names Whootie
This lawn owl was originally a birthday gift for Sylvie’s father. He was going to use the owl on his boat to scar away birds but Sylvie had other ideas.
They quickly became inseparable.
According to Sylvie’s mother, “Sylvie just immediately became really entranced by it. She was saying ‘Hi owl, hi owl,’ and just wanted to carry it around everywhere. She doesn’t seem freaked out by it at all, even though it’s clearly kind of terrifying.”
Soon, Whootie was going along on every family outing
Sylvie is not just attached to Whootie, she loves all owls.
Whootie is too big for Sylvie to put her arms around him but she still carries him everywhere.
Whootie tags along to the grocery, the library and the park.
He even sleeps in Sylvie’s bed!
Whootie may be a night owl but this would be a scarry sight on the monitor.
Strangers often do a double take when they see this little girl and her unusual BFF
It’s not everyday that love like this comes along.
We hope they will be BFFs for a very long time and that more pictures will be taken
