There are many different ways to get from here to there but one of the most convenient is traveling by airline. That doesn’t mean, however, that it is completely free of frustrations. The fact the matter is, getting to the destination is more than half of the battle and when you’re dealing with going through security, delayed flights, crying babies of other problems, stress levels tend to be fairly high.
Nobody wants to be stuck on the plane next to somebody who has had too much to drink or is just generally obnoxious. Fortunately, they tend to be the people that get kicked off of the flight rather quickly. If you tend to keep yourself fairly calm, you might feel as if you are safe but there are times when you may be harassed by a flight attendant who is just having a bad day.
Mackenzie Murphy just happened to be there when it happened. She is a lifestyle and fashion blogger and was shocked when the flight crew started picking on somebody during a recent flight. She witnessed the following first-hand:
A mother of twins was traveling with her babies alone when she just happened to be singled out.
It is true that people get annoyed when there is a baby crying on an airplane. That is why it is no surprise that a mother with newborn twins was about to get kicked off of the plane and nobody was there to help her. Most people thought that taking a quiet flight was better than helping somebody who really needed it.
Mackenzie was saddened by what was going on but then she saw a couple just a few rows away.
“Yesterday, this woman on my flight had twin babies, probably under 6 months, not so sure of the age. It was a very packed flight so they started taking carry on luggage to store under the plane. A gate worker took this woman’s car seat, meaning she would now have to hold both babies since they weren’t old enough to sit up on their own in a seat.”
When the mother sat down, the flight attendant immediately told her that she couldn’t hold both babies as it presented a safety hazard. The mother’s original intention was for one of the twins to sit in the car seat next to her. Airlines will sometimes allow this if there are open seats on the flight.
Unfortunately, the flight was fully booked so the mother was told she would have to leave.
It didn’t take long before somebody stepped up to the plate and helped her.
“A mother sitting in front of me, with permission from the other mother, volunteered to hold one of her babies for the entire flight. Keep in mind this was a flight that was supposed to be a quick 45 minutes. We ended up sitting on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours! Without a complaint this woman fed the other woman’s baby, burped him.”
This incredible stranger even fed the baby and burped him as well. She became an in-flight surrogate.
It turns out that the surrogate mother also had a daughter of her own that was sitting next to her. The little girl was jealous over the new baby who was now getting all of the attention.
“Her own daughter started crying. This mum, so calmly, went on to explain to her young daughter that “our job is to help other people. This mum is all by herself with no help, and really needs another mum to help.” She then went on to hold him, sing him songs, and then he slept the entire flight without even a cry.”
This is one of those heartwarming stories that can really restore your faith in humanity. She helped somebody out and need and taught her young daughter a lesson in the process.
