Young Lad Saves Allowance For 5 Months Then Uses The Money To Buy Lunch For The Police Department

Those of us who have children recognise that they can be very precious, but they also tend to be concerned about themselves. When they receive an allowance, they either spend it immediately on the latest toy or some candy or they tuck it away to buy something larger that they have had their eye on.

There are some children, however, who have an interest in others and they are willing to show it. This young lad saved his allowance for 5 months and he did something awesome with it.

William Everts Junior is only five years old, but he saved his allowance to perform a “random act of kindness.”

The lad was grateful for the protection provided by the police and he wanted to show his appreciation.

The Police Department shared his story on Facebook.

The post reads:

On 08/15 Winslow Twp PD received an email from Tara Evertz advising that her 5yr old son, William Evertz Jr wanted to do random acts of kindness. One of his acts was to deliver lunch to the police officers in his community who keep him safe “even when he sleeps”. William chose to buy lunch from his allowance from Underground because he wants the officers to “be healthy.”

After saving his allowance for 5 months, he showed up at the station with sandwiches and snacks for the entire department.

Thanks to his act of kindness, he was named an “honorary officer” and they gave him a shirt and badge. He was also able to get a ride home in a police car with the siren and lights running.

3

William plans to donate clothes, school supplies, and toys to a domestic violence shelter, food and supplies to a local animal shelter, and $25 to a less fortunate family to assist with daycare expenses.

The post by the police department has thousands of likes in just a matter of a few days. People can’t get over the kindness of this child.
