A college president cuts $90,000 of his salary, so that minimum-wage workers in their university will have a higher salary.
Raymond Burse, the interim president of Kentucky State University (KSU), decided to cut his annual salary from $349,869 to $259,745, or $90,124 less. The school’s hourly minimum wage will go up to $10.25 from $7.25.
Burse was the president of KSU from 1982 to 1989. He retired in 2012 after being employed in a company for several more years. He admitted he received good retirement benefits.
Nevertheless, his act of kindness is inspiring 🙂
