Homeless Man Runs the Marathon for Charity

Meet Ronnie Goodman, the homeless runner who joined the San Francisco Marathon in July 2014. And yes, he ran not for himself, but for charity.

Goodman, 54, sleeps in a tent under Highway 101, and has been homeless for two years. He may have a troubled past, but his life is changing now, for the better.

Wearing No. 25779, he joined 5,500 other runners for a good cause. His story went viral before the race, with kind people paying for his $120 fee and buying him a new pair of running shoes.

You’re the man!
