Heidi Williams suffered from a number of mental issues, including depression, anxiety and posttraumatic stress disorder. She is a rape survivor and she suffered from those problems for quite some time until she finally tried yoga. During the worst years of her life, she attempted suicide and lost her six-month-old child.
Since beginning yoga, she began to see the colours returning to her life and now she even helps others who are experiencing some of the same problems that she once experienced.
“It was in this place of mental illness hell that I found yoga and grace. Yoga brought me to a safe place again. A place of peace and self-acceptance.”
After experiencing the benefits of yoga, she decided to help others and has dedicated her life to doing so. She runs online support groups with the main goal of starting yoga classes and retreats that are therapeutic for individuals with severe mental issues.
