When Sam Berns was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with Progeria, a rare, fast aging disease. But it did not stop him from enjoying a happy life. In fact, he achieved the highest honours when he was a Junior at Foxboro High School in Massachusetts.

Sam Berns passed away on January 10, 2014, two months after his life story documentary “Life According to Sam” was featured in HBO. He was 17.
