Many people decorate their homes for Christmas and they may spend time putting up some inflatables in the front yard and hanging lights to trim out the home. As Christmas time draws near, we may travel around to nearby neighborhoods to see the lights and enjoy the beauty. At times, somebody may take their decorations to epic proportions and that is what you are about to see.
Her name is Christine McConnell and she is busy turning her parent’s home into a winter wonderland. She also did a similar transformation during Halloween, but the Christmas decorations are nothing short of phenomenal! Not only is it beautiful, it is whimsical and fun. If you happen to be anywhere in the area, it would be well worth the drive to see it in person!
Christine wanted to get into the holiday spirit, so she decided to take on her parent’s home. In true Christmas fashion, she turned it into a winter wonderland that would even make Hansel and Gretel turn aside!
Nylon rope was used as a makeshift netting that covered the top of the home.
She said that it was difficult to put the netting on the home, but she couldn’t resist the icing effect that it would produce!
Foam-core boards were used to craft many of the decorations for this magnificent project. She would draw the rough sketch and then cut the boards into shapes.
Large candy canes and gingerbread men were cut out. Fortunately, Christine has some awesome artistic skills and she used them!
Multiple candy canes were used for the project, and it must’ve taken her a long time to cut each of them individually. There were used for the front porch and along some of the windows.
She had a lot of fun with painting. Who wouldn’t?
Although the house was somewhat ordinary before, she created a candy scene and decorated it in an awesome way!
Foam-board candy was mounted around and alongside the windows upstairs. She even fashioned a “Gretel” who would try to get into the home at a later time!
Attention was given to detail, including making the gingerbread men look just a little bit frightened!
Judging by the pictures, we would say that this home is one of the most festive and delicious that we have ever seen! She even took a picture with herself in the front yard, tempting Hansel and Gretel even closer as the candy house witch!
Her nieces played the part of Hansel and Gretel and in her words “They are my favorite people.”
Although we are sure that it took a lot of work, the results speak for themselves. Not only did it put her in the mood for Christmas, anyone who walked or drove by the home was certain to get in the mood for Christmas as well!
