Woman Develops Sick Liver from Drinking Red Bull Excessively

There isn’t anyone alive among us who doesn’t have a vice. Perhaps it is something that we hold onto because it makes us feel invincible, but regardless of why you have it, it can eventually turn into an addiction. In turn, addiction can lead to health problems and those are never good.

Mary Allwood is a mother of three who works for a living and she learned all too quickly how it was possible to harm yourself with an addiction. She wasn’t addicted to an illegal drug, she became dependent on Red Bull. It required more and more of that caffeinated drink just to get her through the day.

The busy schedule that Allwood carried made the slogan “Red Bull Gives You Wings” true for this woman. The drink gave her that jolt of energy she needed to get through the day.

As she continued to consume more of the caffeinated drink, her tolerance to it grew. Before long, she needed to drink more of it just to get the same results. Eventually, she was consuming 20 Red Bulls every day.

1

Two Red Bulls would be consumed first thing in the morning and the rest were spread throughout the day.

2

She craved both the fizz and the taste and she felt awful if she didn’t have one.

3

In 20 cans of red bull, there is as much sugar as 17 Mars Bars and as much caffeine as you would find in 16 cups of coffee. She gained weight while she was addicted and eventually, checked in the hospital in severe pain.

4

The doctors ran tests and they found out that her liver had doubled in size. This is a common problem for severe alcoholics.

5

The health scare caused her to make changes in her life. Since that time, she has weaned herself off of Red Bull and has lost the weight that was associated with the addiction.

6

Who could have guessed that this would happen from an energy drink?
