Young Woman Honors Her Twin’s Passing

If you grew up with a brother or sister, you realize how much they mean to you in your life. They are not only our sibling, they can be your friend, rival, confidant and playmate. That is especially true when the siblings are twins.

Sure, there may be times when siblings bicker with each other, but at the end of the day, blood is thicker than water.

Many of us could not imagine anything more difficult than losing a sibling, especially when they pass away at a very young age. Standing up under those circumstances can be difficult, as grief is an emotion that is difficult to manage.

There are not many of us who have had to live up to the situation but one young woman took to Facebook to let out her emotions when her twin sister passed away. The result is more than touching.

A young woman named Sabrina took to imagur to share this post. It was entitled “A Photo of You for Every Year You Got to Live.” The 19 pictures she showed touch every emotion.

Under the first image in the gallery, pictured above, was the heartbreaking caption, “You died this morning, August 2, 2016. You were just 19 years old.”

The woman in the images was Caitlin. She passed away after a long struggle with leukemia.

3

The twins grew up together in the area where her sister went for treatments. She wrote the post to express her grief and say goodbye.

4

She tells her sister she was gorgeous in the picture where they were heading off to the prom. They wore black dresses and striking makeup.

Although her head was bare from the chemo, the style is easy to see. She embraced the look with grace.

5

She posted an older picture of the two girls together. She was kissing her twin sister on the cheek. Apparently, they had some good memories together.

6

The photos she chose ranged from photogenic to silly, something that all siblings will understand. The two of them sleeping together is so heart-wrenching, it’s difficult to see without tears.

7

They were twins, but they had been separated because of the sickness. Sabrina graduated high school a year ahead of her sister.

“You graduated… a whole year behind me. But I’d never seen a whole stadium give a standing applause like the one they gave you.”

This is the most touching eulogy I have ever read. Her sister is gone far too soon, but she leaves behind memories that she will never forget.
