If you were to see this old, yellow camper sitting in a field, you might not really think much about it. For 60 years, it sat off to the side and appearing from the outside to be wasting away to nothing but inside was an awesome secret.
In today’s world, many people have a true love for anything retro. That is especially true of campers, and we have seen our fair share of old campers turned into something awesome in the modern world. But this camper has nothing modern about it and it hasn’t been updated in many decades.
Although it appeared as if the camper had just been forgotten to time, somebody must’ve been caring for it along the way. Everything was still in working condition and pristine, and you will be amazed with what was captured in the following pictures.
For some 60 years, this 1953 Vagabond sat off to the side. It still had a bright yellow/green paint job but it didn’t gain much attention from others. Most people just assumed it was abandoned.
This camper would’ve been used for longer-term camping or permanent living and on the inside, it contained many surprises.
One of the first surprises is that everything was absolutely in pristine shape. It included the curtains and birch panels but the carpeting had been replaced.
Other than those minor changes, the living room is a perfect time capsule from the middle of the last century. It doesn’t matter if you enjoy this style or not, it is difficult not to be amazed with what they found.
All of the appliances are not only intact, they still work! The refrigerator has been keeping beverages and food cold for more than 50 years and it is still going strong.
The stove is powered by propane and is still capable of cooking a wonderful meal.
There are twin beds and lots of wood paneling in the bedroom. It is the perfect spot for enjoying some time in the great outdoors.
This trailer would have allowed people to bring it along and live on a long vacation like they owned a house. Other people may have traveled in it for work related purposes.
This camper has all of the comforts of home, including a full size tub in the bathroom.
Although the vagabond camper has been forgotten for many years, it now has a new owner who takes it across the US on many adventures.
