Many of us who have to travel realize that flying is one of the most frustrating parts of it. Of course, we get from here to there much faster but it is typically uncomfortable. If we aren’t able to afford first-class, we end up crammed in with the rest of the coach class and something invariably goes wrong.
There are many reasons why the summer is a great time to travel. It is warm and sunny outside, so we can go to a variety of locations and enjoy some sunshine. In addition, most businesses expect their employees to take vacations over the summer, so there is less haggling over it.
If you are frustrated over the thought of flying today, wait to see these pictures of flying in the 1970s. Things certainly were different back then!
During the 1950s, commercial airlines went mainstream. During the 1960s and 1970s, however, accommodations and customer service were emphasized.

Modern planes are designed to be more economical. They fit as many people as possible in a small space, even in first class.
Ticket prices may be more affordable but something was certainly lost in the process.
