We live in an age of electronics and it seems as if people are doing all of their reading on their smart phones, tablets and computers. For those of us who love books, however, there is nothing better than a quiet retreat where we could do all of the reading we want in solitude. This little black cabin is the perfect getaway for anyone who loves books.
It’s actually a library and a guest house for a vacation home. It’s called the Hemmelig Rom, which means “secret room” in Norwegian. The entire structure is made out of oak trees that were removed to make room for the main house. They were dried overtime into long, rectangular logs.
The logs are now the walls of the cabin and the gaps in between them form the bookshelves. There is also a comfortable bed, and armchair and the desk, along with a wood stove. What could possibly be better?
