100-Year-Old Grandfather Holds Wife’s Hand During Final Moments With Each Other

When two people have been together for very long time, they become almost inseparable. This is often seen with a married couple who have been together for decades and it seems as if the link between them is stronger than life itself.

Perhaps the evidence of how many couples share such a strong partnership is seen when they often die within days of each other. Considering we live in an age where many people have turned their back on this institution, it is something beautiful when we see it in action.

This example of such undying love was posted to Reddit as it is perhaps one of the most beautiful photos we’ve seen.

The Reddit user posted a photograph of an elderly man and woman who hold hands across 2 beds. According to the woman who posted the picture, the couple are her grandparents.

She writes: “My Grandma, 96, with my Grandpa, 100, hours before her death this weekend. 77 years of marriage.”

We are sorry that she experienced such a loss but glad her grandmother had a true love story.

It is challenging to lose someone you love so dearly and we can’t imagine how difficult it must for him to see her as the end came close.

The man may be 100 years old, but he they still live quite some time. When he does die, however, we hope he has the comfort of knowing that he was there for his wife in the end.

Some couples may spend decades together and they eventually pass within hours of each other. We hear the stories too often for them to be a coincidence.

The medical condition is known as broken heart syndrome, and it involves the stress and grief of losing a loved one. Stress and anxiety are not just a mental condition, they can also affect our physical health as well.

When somebody is elderly or in poor health, broken heart syndrome can lead to such a problem.

One famous, heartbreaking example involves a couple named Jim and Cindy Minnini.

Jim was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given very little time to live.

His wife was so exhausted and distressed that she suffered a heart attack and had to be hospitalized separately.

Jim, when he was reaching the end of his time, had arrangements made so that they could be together in the same hospital room, and he held his beloved wife’s hand as he passed on.
