What is your idea of the dream vacation? We all probably have our own image that we picture in our mind but for some of us, it’s a white sand beach with beautiful blue water in front of us. It seems as if it is absolutely the perfect way for us to relax and get away from it all but when you really stop to think about it, there is something missing as well. Of course, I’m talking about a nice puppy by your side.
Believe it or not, you can actually have your cake and eat it too if you’re willing to do some traveling. There is an island that you can have to yourself and you will find plenty of little dogs on the island, and they are all rescue puppies. This is not a dream, it is a reality and you are not going to believe how amazing it can be.
The island of Providenciales in Turks and Caicos has a special area known as PotCake Place. It is an island that is run by an animal rescue charity and you will find plenty of little dogs on it. Many of those dogs are potcakes, which is a breed of dogs native to the local islands and they are adorable.
The dogs are named because of leftover food that is found at the bottom of the pot. It would be fed to strays in the local area.
It is possible to rescue the puppies from Potcake place. Then again, you aren’t required to take a dog home so you can just go out on the beach and enjoy some time with the puppies. Not only does it make you happier, it makes the dogs happier as well.
Everybody who works on the island is a volunteer so they encourage donations. It doesn’t cost any money to adopt a dog and photos are free.
I can’t think of anything more amazing than walking on a beautiful beach with a puppy in my arms. You can even swim along with them in the beautiful blue water.
I don’t know about you but I’m ready to pack my bags.
