When we first bring a kitten into our home, it is one of the happiest days of our lives. The adorable animals wrapped themselves around our hearts and the journey that we shared for many years is something we would never live without.
Unfortunately, we also watch our cats get older and eventually, there comes a time when we must make a decision. It is then that we experience the saddest day of our lives, when we have to take our cat to the vet because it is the “right thing to do.”
A Reddit user recently posted a photo of his cat’s trip to the veterinarian after dealing with a serious illness for a year. The image has gone viral and when you see the touching scene, you will know why.
This couple may be distraught over having to part with their friend but it seems as if he is comforting them both. He holds their hand as they ride together to the vet’s office.

Reddit user abernha3 has posted a picture of their cat, Andrew, when he was on his final trip to the hospital. It has gone viral.
“He held our hands on his last trip to the vet. Little Andrew was much stronger than his mom and I.”
He continues:
“Little Andrew was my junior. He was 15 and a half, and loved everyone, but just got old and sick over the last year. He purred every day of his life, and when he lost that, I knew it was time.”
“Always sad to lose a friend. Sorry for everybody else’s losses as well.”
This image has been spreading around the Internet and it reminds us how we should celebrate the time that we have with our pets.
Many other families have also shared pictures of their loving pets, including both the first and the last photos.
All of the pictures honor the special bond that cats have with their owners.
When you see the pictures, it will remind you that you have both grown older together.
Andrew seemed to understand that it was a sad time with his family. He also seems to be comforting them through their time of grief.
The love that he showed for his humans will live on in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
