The Adverts At London’s Underground Have Been Replaced With Cat Pictures

If you travel in London’s underground station regularly, you never quite know what you’re going to see. For those who visited Clapham common tube station on this particular morning, however, they had a rather unusual site. Instead of looking at adverts on all kinds of different signs, they were looking at pictures of cats, and it was both of amusing and confusing. Some people may have considered this to be the first sign of the cat apocalypse, and that they were ready to take over the world.

In a way, you will be somewhat right because it was paid for by CATS. It is not cats of the feline variety, however, it is the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service, and they are the ones behind this unusual campaign. Some 700 people pledged over £23,000 to get the project up and running. The organiser, James Turner, said that it isn’t a marketing stunt. The people behind us are volunteers and they want to inspire others to think differently. For two weeks, Clapham Commons will continue to show the cats.
