There is an old principal of law that is typically referred to by a latin term, Caveat emptor. When translated, it means “let the buyer beware,” and it is a principle of contract law that basically is stating that you should be cautious when buying anything without a contract or a guarantee in place. Sometimes not paying attention to this principle can lead to some serious problems but in other cases, it can lead to something others find funny.
Obviously, the man in this Facebook post was not applying this principle properly. He spotted a “Jack Russell” with only 3 legs and felt sorry for it, so he decided to take him in. The only problem was, it wasn’t a Jack Russell after all! What the many ended up buying was a 3 legged goat that looked somewhat like a dog. When he tried to contact the seller about the issue, he found that he was blocked from being able to contact her.
Sometimes, we may face these issues in life where we end up with the short end of the stick. When we do, we can either allow them to ruin our day or we can smile and move on. I think this man should smile big, because I’m sure the seller is smiling as well.
