Like many people, I appreciate a good joke. When they are good and told properly, it can really get me laughing. In fact, I try to make it a point to laugh every day on my way to work, so I listen to a comedian in the car in the morning. Doing so helps me to get my day started on the right foot and I can tell the difference when I don’t do it.
There are many different types of jokes, each with their own type of appeal. You have those that use sarcasm or irony, some that use exaggeration and others that use insults. Then again, you certainly have jokes that may be inappropriate for a variety of reasons, but they are also typically funny. Not to be left out of the mix are puns. Love them or hate them, they are here to stay.
