When the wedding day is set and the date is approaching, many husbands-to-be start thinking about what they can do to make the wedding day special. Perhaps it is a gift or it may be a dance, but it helps to make the day memorable. For this husband, who shares a love of Harry Potter with his wife, the choice seemed clear.
He created something from the film that all Harry Potter fans are going to appreciate, her very own Pensieve. If you happen to not be a fan of Harry Potter, a Pensieve is a bowl that is used to view memories. Dumbledore used his want to extract memories and store them in bottles. When he wanted to view memories, he simply poured the contents of the bottle into a bowl.
Hedwig delivered the gift.
He created the package letter in Powerpoint and used Hogwards stamps found in a Google Search.
Gift 1: A magic wand
He bought the want from Etsy and personalized it with her name.
Gift 2: Hand-Made bowl
It took some work for him to complete the bowl. In fact, he took pottery classes for about 8 hours to make, paint and glaze this present.
You can see the bottom of the bowl here:
Gift 3: Bottles with memories that made her smile
These miniature bottles were purchased from Etsy. It took a few different sizes to know which would be best for inserting the scrolls.
When you put it all together, you have a Pensieve
The memories were created with sparkle paper from the craft store. He cut them so they would fit, drew the memories and rolled them so they could be inserted into the bottles.
When she wants to smile, she just puts the wand in the bowl
He used wire to keep the memories from unrolling.
She then pulls the memory out
A magnet was glued to the bottom of each bottle with super glue. When the metal wand was held over the bottles, one would attach to it.
She could then open the memory and smile
This memory was when she was getting “attacked” by a stingray at Stingray City. It was a fun day.
Gift 4: Empty bottles and blank paper for future memories
The box that held the bottles was a cigar box.
He hopes the amortenia potion never wears off.
