Two Men Save Each Other’s Life 30 Years Apart

The story was broadcast on Sunday by KTLA radio station. The news station reported that Dr Michael Shannon found himself trapped in the interior of a vehicle in flames after a car collision in 2011. He was assisted by a young man named Chris Trokey, a paramedic from Orange County Authority.

Trokey visited the hospital where Dr Shannon was recovering from his injuries, and realized that the man he had saved was the pediatrician who had saved his own life 30 years ago. Trokey was born prematurely  weighing only 3.2 lbs and had only a 50 percent chance to survive. Dr Shannon spent endless hours and worked tirelessly to save the baby’s life. He never once thought Karma would return him the favor.

Dr Shannon and Chris Trokey met again at a recent cancer fund raiser. Dr Shannon told KTLA:  “It’s amazing to watch them all grow up, but to have one come back in your life, on a day you really need it, that’s really incredible.”  Trokey has now a small son and Dr Shannon is the boy’s pediatrician.
