Sometimes I think it would be nice to step back in time and to see how people lived several hundred years ago. It seems like life would have been so much simpler back then, without all the electronics and the hustle and bustle that we see in the modern era.
As it turns out, it might not be that difficult to take such a trip, especially when you step into this lovely cottage from the 1700s. It’s located in Cornwall, England and, as luck would have it, it’s a rental!
This brilliant thatched roof cottage, including the lovely garden and a beautiful view, can accommodate a family of four or, if you’re looking for something a little more romantic, it is perfect for only two.
You can take a tour of this property through the images below.
Just by taking a look at the exterior, you can tell that this is a cottage that is well worth staying in. With a thatched roof, white walls and a crooked chimney, it looks like it is straight out of a storybook.
On the inside, the beauty continues. The living room is perfect for sitting and relaxing with comfortable chairs and rugs.
I can just envision sitting by the fire and reading a book on a cold winter evening.
Stepping into the upstairs of the home, you find that it is also quite lovely. Throughout the home, there are low ceilings so it has a snug, homey feel.
The bed is tucked in its position under the eaves, and there is plenty of softness to enjoy a great night’s sleep.
The bathrooms are also quite brilliant. In the upstairs, the bathroom has a farm style sink and a tub that is perfect for taking a nice, warm bath.
The downstairs bathroom is also lovely, although it doesn’t have the tub that is in the upstairs.
On one wall, a makeshift blackboard gives it the feeling is if you’re in a school.
Don’t be fooled by the toilet, which looks as if you are in the outhouse. There is modern plumbing throughout the home.
This house was reportedly built in the late 1700s. There is a more modern day addition, a sun room, that lets in plenty of light.
When you step outside, the view is absolutely going to take your breath away. The garden is a lovely and the view is to die for.
By the way, this is the view from the cottage! I don’t think I could ever get tired of looking at it.
