Royal Watchers have always known that Queen Elizabeth II has a very “cheeky” sense of humor, despite her stolid and composed outward appearance. But, many were surprised by just how funny she can be after the release of her two cake-cutting videos went viral over the past few months.
However, one person who wasn’t surprised by The Queen’s sense of humor was James Bond actor Daniel Craig, who confirmed Her Majesty’s funny side when recalling his hilarious experience with the Queen of England.
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in February, Craig remembered working with The Queen in 2012 in a sketch for the Olympics being hosted in London that year.
The sketch was part of the now-legendary Olympic opening ceremony.
It served as a moment that James Bond fans will never forget.
And even to this day, there has yet to be a better opening ceremony, in my opinion.
Today, ten years later, fans were given an insight into the actual personality underneath England’s crown.
Colbert took no time beating around the bush, asking Craig:
“I understand that you may not be able to answer this question, but I’m gonna ask anyway: What’s she like in private?”
“Very funny. Wants to crack a joke, and cracked a joke about me,” the “James Bond” actor recalled.
“We’re having our photographs taken and she just went, ‘Oh no, he’s the one that doesn’t smile.’ Fair enough!” To make it even better, Daniel said her corgis were lovely and he was “rolling around on the floor” with them that day.
Now, doesn’t that sound like an awesome day?
